The Challenge

This project required a consolidated financial model to assess its financial viability and to derive a valuation for the consolidated business. The business consisted of 6 different units.

The Solution

We created a financial model template so that each unit could create its bottom-up financial model based on that specific template. Once we got the 6 different inputs, we created a consolidated financial model, added key business and financial drivers' assumptions, added sensitivity tables for each unit, added cash flow and the valuation for each unit, and finally created a consolidated financial and valuation summary. To make the presentation of the financial figures more insightful we connected the financial model to PowerBI. This allowed us more easily present the figures in graphical way to potential investors.                  

The Result

The consolidated financial model and valuation allowed the project members to assess the viability of the overall project and to presents its key financial metrics concisely to potential investors. The use of PowerBI in presenting the figures and being able to quickly slice and dice the data while presenting turn out to be very powerful and engaging.
